Uxbridge United Welfare Trust (UUWT) this week purchased and delivered 20 laptops to families struggling with lockdown learning. Working in conjunction with 10 local schools the Trust has supplied laptops and chromebooks to help youngsters continue with their education during the pandemic.
We are halfway through the rebuild process and hope to house 20 local people in 2021 in a state of the art building in Central Uxbridge. From the spring of 2021 we will be working with Hillingdon Council to select the lucky pensioners who qualify to reside with us.
The new Almshouse will be named Ossulton Court. This is to honour one of the founding fathers of the Trust Lord John Ossulton, who donated a very considerable sum in the 16th Century! He wanted to help the most needy and we still continue this process over 500 years later.
This year we have again donated over £100,000 to local people. The Trusts is always willing to look at how it can assist the residents living within the schemes area of benefit.
